Our mission is to provide a creative outlet for local musicians who are also healthcare workers or students, to financially support educational and medically related charities, and to promote the enjoyment of live orchestral music to the Dallas - Fort Worth community at large.

The Fort Worth Medical Orchestra welcomes musicians from all medical professions, skill levels, and musical backgrounds. Whether one is a seasoned virtuoso or an amateur eager to rediscover the joys of music, our orchestra welcomes all abilities and levels of experience. Our diverse ensemble is composed of physicians, nurses, technicians, and healthcare staff who are looking to harmonize their medical skills with the harmonies of music. Whatever your instrument, be it violin, cello, flute, saxophone, or even piano, we encourage you to join us and be a part of this unique musical journey.
What is a Medical Orchestra?
The idea of an orchestra composed of healthcare workers is not unusual. About forty such organizations serve their communities with music-making in the US according to the National Association of Medical Orchestras. Skills acquired by mastering a musical instrument cross over easily to those needed by doctors, nurses, and other medical professions - discipline, delayed gratification, and focus just to name a few. The demands of a career in medicine are substantial and playing beautiful music in the orchestral setting can be a real balm to these individuals.
